Mike Corrigan
President / Brass Repair Specialis

Mike Corrigan is a U.S. Military brat, having been originally born in Lakenheath, England. He landed in Waldorf, MD where he spent the majority of his childhood through high school years. Through unique circumstances, Corrigan was presented the opportunity to join the school band where he began his career on trumpet. His curiosity for musical instruments began early on, and in a short time was found performing concerts on various brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments including trombone, trumpet, euphonium, french horn, Scottish Highland bagpipes, just to name a few. So, as his curiosity was sparked for various musical voices, it had also ignited his collection of musical instruments, combining a love for history, with his growing musical passions. Corrigan ended up attending and graduating from the world famous Minnesota State College Southeast Technical, Red Wing. Mike was a member of the World Class Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps for four years, where he met his wife, Sara. Following graduation from Red Wing, he accepted a position apprenticing the highly reputed trombone manufacture, Steve Shires, at S.E. Shires Custom Brass Instruments. There Corrigan produced some of the finest brass instruments of all time, working alongside some of the industry’s more dedicated and skilled craftsman. In 2001, Corrigan experienced a short stint with a fledgling company, Greenhoe Custom Valves and Components, where he was officially offered a position as Gary Greenhoe’s first full time craftsman. Because of family concerns, Mike turned down that opportunity and returned to Boston, to finish out a four year apprenticeship with Shires. In 2004, Corrigan found himself relocating to Overland Park, KS the hometown of his new bride. Dis-satisfied with the quality of repair service, and lack of dedication to customer’s interest he witnessed at nearby music stores, he decided to start his own shop. At only 24 years old, Corrigan founded B.A.C. Horn Doctor. In the coming years, Corrigan would find himself working with Calicchio Custom trumpets, and Earl Williams Custom Trombones down in Tulsa, OK, providing Quality Control for the Eastman’s ‘Shires by Eastman’ line of professional trombones, and providing consulting for Conn-Selmer’s King Marching line of brass instruments, Jupiter Musical Instruments, and other companies. Corrigan began making his own line of hand made Sackbuts, in 2007, which was quickly followed by the first B.A.C. Custom Trombones. Corrigan officially founded B.A.C. Musical Instruments LLC in 2012, and now offers a range of Custom Trombones, Trumpets, Sackbuts, and an imported student line of instruments including Trumpets, Trombones, Flute, Alto Saxophone, and Clarinet. He is a proud father of two (Molly and Benge).

Mike Corrigan is a proud Eagle Scout from the National Capitol Area Council.Eagle Scout

Corrigan was presented a key to the city of New Orleans by Mayor Mitch Landrieu in recognition of his efforts to rebuild the music scene following Hurricane Katrina.
